Fortium CEO Mathew Gilliat-Smith will take part in a panel discussion on cybersecurity as part of the fifth Avid Connect Conference, hosted by Avid and Avid Customers Association (ACA) at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Gilliat-Smith will be joined by Microsoft Azure’s Joel Sloss and moderator Brad Dick of The Broadcast Bridge in a session titled Security in the World of Media: Content Is King, Keep It Safe!, scheduled for April 7th at 2:00pm. The panelists will discuss the growing threat of piracy and ransomware in the media and entertainment industry, and what companies can do to avoid becoming victims.
“Fortium is excited to participate in Avid Connect and join with other thought-leaders in addressing issues affecting the industry and its future,” said Gilliat-Smith. “The recent spate of high-profile hacks has generated considerable awareness for the issue of cybersecurity, yet many companies remain unclear about the nature of the threat, or how to protect themselves.”
Immediately preceding the 2018 NAB Show, Avid Connect has become a must-see event, delivering insights from some of the industry’s most celebrated media companies and news organizations. Along with Fortium, they include The Discovery Channel, Digital Production Partnership, DigitalFilm Tree, the Hollywood Reporter and Broadcast Beat. The cybersecurity panel is part of Avid Connect’s Business of Broadcast Media track centering on the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation. Fortium is a sponsor of the session.
At the NAB Show itself, Fortium will be demonstrating the latest version of MediaSeal, its encryption ‘at-rest’ and ‘in-use’ solution. New features include Smart Folders, for encryption-on-the-fly, and Smart Card, for advanced authentication. Fortium will also be displaying the latest version of Patronus, its DVD Screener anti-rip product. You can see MediaSeal and Patronus at NAB booth SU10603, and at the Aspera booth, SL5910.
