Description

We are looking for a Lead Developer who will head a great engineering team to deliver a new greenfield high-quality
product. You’ll join a team of engineers and product managers who work across multiple locations, delivering our world class security software to our global client base.
You will be passionate about delivering high quality code that is founded on good design principles, craftsmanship and
test-driven development.

As part of your role as Lead Developer, you will mentor and guide the team, helping them to hit sprint goals and influence the design and direction of  the product.

What You'll Do

• Manage the team through the design, development and testing phases of the new software.
• Plan the new products’ development milestones and timelines.
• Select new technologies that will help deliver the business goals.
• Work across the company to ensure the product meets business needs.

What you should have

• Strong Java skills
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time.
• Experience of the entire software development
lifecycle.
• Experience with cloud native technologies.
• Hands on experience of leading and growing a team.

• Strong JavaScript skills (ES6+)

• Good CSS skills
• Good Typescript skills

You will have 23 personal days holidays (increasing to 25 over time), in addition to bank holidays.  5 of these personal days will be reserved for Christmas shut-down, but the other 18 to 20 days you are free to choose.

As well as training, and conferences, we have a culture of learning where team members are given time to prepare and deliver lightning talks and code workshops.  We also encourage pair programming where developers can share their expertise and work together to solve problems.

Friday afternoons are usually set aside for the team to work on developing their skills on any language / tool / idea of their choosing.  As long as it's related to what we do, it's your free time to learn. 

We recognise that a healthy workforce is a productive one, which is why we provide free gym membership at Nuffield Health (just around the corner from the offices) and have regular deliveries of fruit.

We have an open-door policy where senior management are approachable and are open to any ideas or initiatives you may have, and if it brings a positive benefit for all then they will work with you to bring it to fruition.

We have our very own majority-funded sports and social club with many team event days (think bowling, white water rafting, go-karts), giving everyone a chance to unwind and have some fun, and on the last Friday of every month is our pizza day.
