Pirate DVD’s still operational

Source:FBCL News Date:Sunday, 11 April 2010. Article Type:General

Pirate DVD’s is still on the rise, especially in the capital city.

It seems many shops continue selling copied DVD’s without fear.

FBC news went to the streets yesterday and was surprised to hear from some shop owners that original DVD’s are sold for 10 dollars, but if you want the same movie for a cheaper price, then you could pay two dollars for the copied version.

Public displays at the front of these shops have original signs in it but in actuality, shop owners continue to engage in piracy despite several raids around the country.

Earlier this week SPR called on authorities to continue raiding DVD shops who are involved in piracy as original dealers like then continue to suffer.

Police say comments can only be obtained from the Attorney Generals office.
