Our goal is to create usable and accessible designs for this and future websites. We work to make our website as accessible as possible for all users, regardless of disability or technology limitations. This page highlights what we have done to make our website accessible, and explains how to use these features.

Navigation Aids
- Access keys are used to make it easy to jump directly to frequently used pages.
- A 'Breadcrumb Navigation' labelled 'you are here' located near the bottom of a page is used, so that you always know where you are and can easily navigate back to the homepage or to a category above the current page.
- An option to 'Jump to top of page' available at the bottom of each page for ease of use.
- Selecting the Fortium Technologies logo at the top of each page will take you to the home page.
Links
- Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article).
- Links are written to make sense out of context.
Images
- All images on our website include descriptive ALT attributes that describes the contents or function of the image, where appropriate.
- All images are optimised for fast download times and modem browsing.
Access Keys
The following UK government recommended access keys are used:
- S - Skip navigation.
- 1 - Home page.
- 2 - Skip to main content.
- 3 - Site map.
- 4 - Search.
- 8 - Terms and conditions.
- 9 - Feedback.
- 0 - Access key details.
Also the following access keys are used:
- R - Privacy policy.
- X - Delivery, returns, refunds and exchange policies.
- C - Contact details.
- K - Keywords, a shortcut to the keywords field for 'Search Website' and applies to 'Press Archive' keywords search field for the 'Press Archive' page.
- P - Print page (excluding home page).
- E - Email page (excluding home page).
- I - Increase font size.
- D - Decrease font size.
- F - Reset font size.

Visual design
- This website uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.
- Our website uses relative font sizes which can be resized in your browser.
- Where colours are used we have tried to make sure there is maximum contrast between foreground and background items.
- If your browser or reading device does not support style sheets, all content is still readable and grouped / displayed in a logical order.
- This website has seven text size options available for ease of reading.
Non-visual design
For visitors using assistive technologies the following features are included.
- Every page has a 'Skip to Main Content' link at the top of the page to allow users to jump straight to the main content of the page.
- Links proceeding a section to skip to the next section.
- Each page has 'Jump to Main Navigation' and 'Jump to top of page' links located at the bottom of each page.
- All the pages on our website are "device independent" and can be navigated by using a keyboard, mouse or combination of the two.
Abbreviations and Acronyms
- All pages include the necessary code to describe the meaning for each abbreviation and acronym, or at the very minimum; the first occurrence of.
- Browsers that don't support the highlighting of abbreviations and acronyms are highlighted with a dotted underline.
Standards compliance
- All pages on this site are WCAG-A and WCAG-AA approved, complying with all priority 1 and priority 2 rules of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. This is a judgment call; many guidelines are intentionally vague and can not be tested automatically. We have reviewed all the guidelines and believe that all pages are in compliance.
- Most pages/areas also conform to WCAG-AAA, complying with priority 3 rules; although the work to attain full AAA status is ongoing. We welcome any feedback you may have.
- All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional . For example, check the home page for XHTML validity.
- All pages on this site validate as well formed CSS . For example, check the site for CSS validity .
